Polyphenols
Turmeric root: peeled, sliced and juiced raw for the active circuminoid. I have only found 1 turmeric supplement that has the clinically proven active circuminoid, along with cinnamon & resveratrol (another polyphenol found in grapes/red wine). It helps with this and also improves inflammation, cogntion & blood sugar control.
Ginger root: juiced sliced or boiled as a tea. Can be added to soups and dishes, including baked deserts. Amazing for reducing phlegm and reducing a variety of digestive symptoms.
Cayenne pepper: amazing for sinuses, easy to add in powder form.
Alliums
Onions: raw for high amounts of quercitin, and can be cooked or added fresh to almost anything for the benefits.
Garlic: nature’s most potent anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic compound, used in many countries. Cook and add to foods, and take in this supplement form for a clinical dose of active allicin. Our medicine cabinet is never without Garlic Allium Complex, and we typically kill anything moving into our house overnight with that whole food nutraceutical.
Seasonal High-C Fruits
Pineapple: your best friend to break up phlegm in the lungs with the enzyme bromelain. Always buy it fresh & whole, not pre-cut for the active properties. This also avoids mold & pesticides. Wash & juice with peel. Use a human-natural wash like Green.
Citrus: Oranges, lemon & limes. Organic, peeled to the white with a potato peeler, as the pith is where the most C and flavonoids left in the orange are after being picked and stored or transported. Add lemon or lime to warm water.
Other Powerhouse Foods
Apple cider vinegar: can be easily made at home from apple cores, or bought in store. Always raw, organic, with the mother.
Raw honey: nature’s antibacterial sweetener that is amazing for the throat and oral microbiome. Must be raw!
Vitamin A from fish liver, like this toxin-free water-miscible Vitamin A.
Vitamin D2/D3: combo of both forms of vitamin D from whole food form.
